Images of a new restaurant due to open up in a former city department store have been revealed for the first time.
The ground and first floor of the former Esslemont and Macintosh building on Union Street are being refurbished into a stylish bar and restaurant.
Mac’s Pizzeria, an authentic Italian pizza parlour, will open on the first floor of the building and will cater for up to 120 people.
The authentic Neapolitan pizzeria will focus on offering traditional fresh Neapolitan pizza.
With provenance key, the pizzas will be freshly prepared on-site on a daily basis with the finest genuine ingredients used in keeping with the Neapolitan style. They will be cooked in the bespoke pizza oven in just 60 seconds.
Mac’s Pizzeria will be open all day serving delicious handmade pizza, fresh antipasti, daily specials and sweets with a selection of wines, beers and soft drinks to complement.
The relaxed yet stylish vibe throughout with an open kitchen will allow diners the chance to watch pizzas being made and the bar area will showcase the drinks offering. The room will also feature sharing tables and a semi-private area for group bookings up to 14.
Sales and marketing director of The McGinty’s Group Jillian Miller said: “Mac’s Pizzeria is definitely made for good times and we are looking forward to bringing this style of dining to Aberdeen. As a local company, we are constantly looking for new concepts and we felt there was a gap in the market for an independently owned pizzeria to cater for the casual diners.
“Although Mac’s will have a relaxed style, we will be making sure quality is at the forefront from the ingredients we use to the drinks we pair and importantly, in our service to ensure we deliver the full customer experience.
“Ultimately, we want to provide the best pizza in the best surroundings and we are very excited to bring Mac’s Pizzeria to the city.”
