Six-stone cheese wheel to be launched at Aberdeen restaurant

A city restaurant is to add a cheese wheel to its menu.
A 30-month aged parmigiano reggiano cheese wheel, weighing around six stone, will be introduced to hungry diners at Flippin’ Cheese.
The Summer Street eatery’s spectacular cheesy wheel will be available from Sunday June 16.
Customers will be able to order from the wheel which will be halved and hollowed out. Fresh, hot pasta will be tossed in the middle of the wheel with some cream, garlic and herbs. Before being served, the pasta will be mixed around inside the wheel, melting the cheese and making the pasta extremely cheesy.
As a result of the way the cheese has been aged it is lactose-free.
A Flippin’ Cheese spokesman said: “Customers will be able to view the cheese wheel by the corner of the bar downstairs. From there the dish will be completed.”
Pasta dishes from the cheese wheel can also be served with steak or prawns.
Prices range from £13 to £18.
