New artisan gin distillery to open in heart of Aberdeen next month

A new artisan gin distillery will open to the public in Aberdeen next month.
Based in the heart of the city at Arch three on Palmerston Road behind Union Square, the City of Aberdeen Distillery will launch on Sunday December 1.
It will offer a gin school where guests can make their own gin on a copper alembic mini-still and various other gin experiences.
The firm will organise distillery tours and tastings and customers will be able to enjoy a gin and tonic while browsing a wide range of botanicals to perfect the gins they will make.
The premises will also be able to offer off sales too.
An application was submitted to Aberdeen City Council earlier this year to convert one of the vacant C-listed arches buildings on Palmerston Road into a gin distillery.
The report said it will feature three gin tanks and will also have an experience area and customer gin making area.r
It also highlighted parking and visitor tours.
It added: “The proposed frontage design is sensitive to the fabric and integrity of the listed building.
“Although no dedicated parking is provided it is accepted that most users of the gin distillery would walk to the site and the location is otherwise well located in terms of sustainable transport, with on-street parking also available.”
The opening hours would be from 10am to 10pm and visitor numbers would be limited to a maximum of 12 people at any one time.
