Aberdeen-based hair salon owners Jenn Linton & Joanna MacDonald took centre stage at an annual prestigious hairdressing event in Edinburgh.
The owners of Netherkirkgate salon Linton & Mac spoke at The Coterie – an annual networking event dedicated to uniting and celebrating the talented individuals currently paving the way in the hairdressing industry.
Jenn Linton and Jaye MacDonald, co-founders and co-directors of Linton & Mac, were guest speakers at the event alongside other high-profile industry names and pop singer Will Young.
The regional event took place at Edinburgh’s Fruitmarket Gallery and was attended by more than 100 guests from the media and hairdressing industries.
Organised by hair publisher Creative HEAD, Jenn and Jaye gave guests an insight into the success of their salon which opened its doors back in 2015. Linton & Mac now ranks in the top 5% of the city’s 152 salons.
The salon’s award-winning colour expert Sarah Black, who won the prestigious L’Oréal Colour Trophy in 2017, also joined the duo on stage.
Additional guest speakers included male grooming specialist Jody Taylor and Paul Percival, a session hairdresser and one half of London salon group, Percy & Reed. Singer-songwriter and actor Will Young surprised guests and took the opportunity to discuss mental health issues.
Jaye MacDonald said: “It was a real honour to speak at this year’s Coterie, which is an event we’ve always considered a great opportunity to meet with like-minded industry peers, to inspire and be inspired.
“Sharing our story and our successes with others was exciting and it really drove home to us just how far we’ve come in the three years since we launched the Linton & Mac brand.”
