An Aberdeenshire cafe has created a delicious sweet treat with a fizzy twist.
Strichen-based Cafe 1909, situated within The Old Auction Room on High Street, is serving up an Irn-Bru cake.
Sous chef Shannon Forbes reduced down a can and half of Irn-Bru and added it to the sponge mix. She then added half a tin of Scotland’s most loved fizzy drink to the icing.
The cafe offers a range of homemade cheesecakes and a range of vegan and gluten free bakes too. Availability of the cake is limited and anyone wishing to try it should phone the cafe in advance.
