A spirits school in Aberdeenshire has been launched.
Lost Loch Spirits, based at Deeside Activity Park in Aboyne, will now welcome visitors to classes at its unique distillery and will also offer tastings and tours.
Holding its first school on Saturday August 10, sessions will run every Saturday in August and then alternating Saturday’s between the school and tours/tastings after that.
It will give people the chance to distill their own gin, absinthe or botanical spirit.
Lost Loch Spirits has a portfolio of products including Scotland’s first absinthe Murmichan, EeNoo gin, and Haroosh, and boasts hundreds of botanicals for guests to choose from.
Participants will use a small five litre alembic still, allowing them to create their own personal recipe which they can bottle, label and take home.
Private bookings are also available outwith the advertised dates for the school and bespoke tours and tastings.
Tickets for the school include a welcome tipple, a tour of the distillery, access to the botanical library, a locally sourced buffet lunch, including unique Lost Loch Spirits produce, complimentary drinks from the Lost Loch Spirits bar (soft and alcoholic), a complimentary goodie bag, plus a £5 discount for any distilled products and a 50cl bottle of your own product with bespoke label.
They are priced at £100 per person for a group booking of seven or more, or £115 per person for a group booking of six or less and can be booked here.
Micro tours and tastings cost £15 and last 45 minutes. They include a tour, a brief history of gin, absinthe and the art of distilling, botanical sampling, tasting of the products and a complimentary branded glass. You can book here.
