A cafe owner has been crowned the best in the world at making the north-east soup Cullen skink.
The Cullen Skink World Championships took place in the village from which the dish takes its name.
Four competitors battled to see their interpretation of the local delicacy take first place.
In the end, Lynne Watson of Lily’s Kitchen Cafe in Cullen was awarded the top spot.
She took the crown from former three-time champion Ian Watson, who owns the Cullen Bay Hotel where the competition was held.
The other competitors included owner of MLB Street Food in Lossiemouth Darren Bate, Lynne Watson of Lily’s Kitchen Cafe in Cullen and Margaret MacRae of Buth Bheag in Kyle on the West Coast.
The test involved a panel of independent judges undertaking a blind tasting of each dish.
Each competitor was awarded points between one and 10 by each judge.
