Aberdeen’s Porter’s Gin secures China deal

An Aberdeen gin brand has moved into Chinese and Japanese markets following a successful trade deal.
Porter’s Gin, which launched at the tail end of 2015, has now moved further into Asia securing deals in Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and recently mainland China.
Porter’s Gin also launched its micro-distillery last year which sees weekly tours take place every Saturday.
The gin brand is already available in the US and Europe.
Co-founder Ben Iravani said: “Asia has been really successful for us so far.
“The Chinese cocktail scene is growing at a pace far beyond any other market, with myself and Josh visiting Shanghai, Beijing and Hanzhou twice last year, we’re very excited about the opportunity.
“The bartenders are thirsty for premium gin from the UK and the quality of venues is also growing at a rapid pace, with several of the world’s top 50 bars now coming from Asia.
“Having just launched into all of these markets, we’ll be heading out there again with Alex a few times this year to host tasting sessions for bartenders and start activating the markets.”
