A major north-east music event has been cancelled.
Cultivate, which was due to take place on Saturday October 3 from 3-11pm on The Boardwalk at Aberdeen Beach, will not go ahead due to the ongoing pandemic.
The one-day event usually consists of three music stages with pop-up food stalls and bars spread throughout the venue. However, the organisers took to social media to announce the event’s cancellation.
The statement said: “In light of the current lockdown in Aberdeen, and what we perceive as a step backwards in the likelihood that indoor music events will be allowed to go ahead by October; we unfortunately will be cancelling Cultivate for this year.
“This decision has not been made lightly, after the inaugural sold out Cultivate in 2018 where dance music fans enjoyed our beach boulevard venue, we never thought that two and a bit years later we would still be coming up against walls that were stopping us from throwing the follow up.
“However, in the name of community safety and public health we believe this is the right option to take.
“We now have our sights set on 2021, with fresh plans and the best lineup ever seen in the north east. Thanks to all of you who bought tickets this year and to those who rolled them on from the original date in May, full refunds will be issued by Skiddle in the coming days.”
