If you’re mad about cheese, then a new restaurant in Aberdeen is worth getting excited about.
Flippin’ Cheese, on Summer Street, has now opened its 70-seater restaurant and bar.
The business initially trialed its offering via delivery service Deliveroo in 2018 and as a result has opened the venue.
Offering dishes including variations of macaroni and cheese, macaroni and cheese balls, cheese toasties, pastas, wine and cheese pairings and fondue with different dipping selections.
The traditional Swiss raclette experience will also feature.
Also on offer is a unique way of serving a traditional Italian favourite. Staff will bring a 30-month aged Parmigiano Reggiano 40kg cheese wheel to your table, then toss hot pasta in flamed Cognac on it before serving it up.
The menu caters for vegetarians and vegans.
Co-owner, Jay Sadarangani, said: “The response has been phenomenal and we have had nothing but praise for those who have now experienced Flippin’ Cheese, we always wanted our food to speak for itself and it has done just that so far.
“The Raclette has been a huge hit and we will launch our 30-month aged Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese wheel, where we will cook fresh pasta inside the cognac flamed melted cheese. Not to mention the extensive list of 20-odd gourmet cheeses that we stock. Next week we will be pairing our cheeses with our new range of natural, bio-dynamic and vegan wines which will be arriving this week.
“We will constantly be changing the menu bringing Aberdeen exciting new cheese delights to their experience with Flippin’ Cheese.”
Jay owns the business with his fiance Andreea Cata and her brother Andrei Cata.
