Two barbers have won top spots at a national hair and beauty award ceremony.
The Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards (SHABA) is Scotland’s largest independent hair and beauty awards.
The annual competition, now in its eighth year, had hundreds of entries from salons and individuals across Scotland.
Best Apprentice Barber went to Gavin Elphinstone, 25, from The Men’s Emporium on Thistle Street in Aberdeen and Best Male Barber was awarded to Kyle Ross from Huntsman on Union Street, Aberdeen.
Apprentice barber Gavin was “buzzing” when he found out.
He said: “I wasn’t expecting to win and it didn’t feel real until they started reading out the names.
“This is a massive achievement and I’m happy and excited to have won.
“But this is a whole team effort. I wouldn’t be able to do this without the help from Men’s Emporium and my boss.
“It’s a team effort that helped get me there.”
A public vote was held and more than 100,000 people voted for their favourite stylist, practitioner, barber or apprentice.
The awards were held in Glasgow.
