The winners of the inaugural Society Awards are set to be announced at a glittering ceremony this evening.
Hosted by former TV anchor and media consultant Pauline Fraser, the awards will celebrate hard-working and successful north-east businesses and individuals.
More than 300 guests will attend the event, sponsored by Aberdeen Inspired, at Aberdeen’s Sandman Signature Hotel, with a total of 15 awards up for grabs.
A panel of six judges with a wealth of experience between them had the difficult task of choosing the winners.
Editor of Society and head judge Samantha Leckie said: “I am very much looking forward to what is set to be a fantastic evening at the Sandman Hotel.
“Thank you to each business who entered into the awards. The judging panel had an extremely tough job on their hands – it was hard enough whittling down the list of finalists, let alone picking the winners.
“Everyone who made the shortlist should be extremely proud, regardless of whether or not they win, because they represent the very best of the north-east.”
The panel of judges also included CEO of Aberdeen Inspired Adrian Watson, Bon Accord marketing manager Cheryl Smith, Society’s associate editor Julia Bryce, Elevator and Business Gateway operations manager Roz Taylor, and Elizabeth Mathie, project manager for Opportunity North East Limited.
CEO of Aberdeen Inspired Adrian Watson said: “There is so much to celebrate in our city and the awards are a great way to mark the achievements of local businesses and showcase the very best from the city centre right out through the region.
“We are sure all attendees will be in for a great night of entertainment at the wonderful Sandman Signature Hotel Aberdeen and we wish all the worthy finalists the very best of luck.”
Aberdeen DJ HomeAlone – who supported worldwide mega rapper Drake and chart-topping singer The Weeknd – will entertain guests, as will talented mentalist and magician Ariel Hamui.
