Always fancied yourself as a singing sensation? Got a voice like Mariah or do you sound as good as Buble? Well, here’s your chance to shine – and perform with a star studded panel of judges!
Mecca Bingo in Aberdeen is on the lookout for a talented north-east singer as it launches this year’s Mecca Star competition. Winners will not only win a lump sum of cash, but the chance to sing with the panel of celeb judges including entertainer Claire Sweeney, former X Factor winner Ben Haenow and Blue boy band member Duncan James. Also on the panel is Daily Star journalist Susan Hill.
So if you fancy yourself as the next Beyonce or maybe an Ed Sheeran in-the-making, you can upload a video of yourself performing to the Mecca YouTube channel or e-mail email@example.com to enter.
A shortlist of 20 hopefuls will then be invited to perform in front of the judging panel on October 14.
The top four singing stars who impress the judges the most will then go through to the final stage and perform live at the final in January next year. The overall winner will scoop £2,500.
Paul MacPhee, club manager at Mecca Aberdeen, said: “We’re so excited to announce the return of Mecca Star and after the success of last year, we can’t wait to find out what amazing performers could be hiding in Aberdeen!
“We believe bingo and top entertainment should be one and the same, and what better way to do it than a singing talent show. With an impressive cash prize there for the taking, here’s hoping the next Mecca Star winner hails from Aberdeen!”
Entries close on October 7.
