A fundraiser has been launched to kickstart plans for a “world-class” sports facility in the heart of a north-east forest.
Gravitate North East hopes to create 45km of mountain bike trails, a chairlift to transport people to the summit of Cairn Mon Earn and snowsport facilities as well as a cafe and shop at Durris Forest, between Banchory and Stonehaven.
In 2017, a feasibility study was carried out to select a preferred location for mountain bike facilities in the north-east.
The charity has launched a fundraising campaign to begin construction.
It hopes to raise £150,000 for the pre-construction phase.
