The owner of a north-east pub has expressed his delight after getting the green light to open, creating 25 jobs.
Brian Ure applied to Aberdeenshire Council for permission to open the Oak Tree Bar on Shore Street, Fraserburgh.
The council’s north licensing board yesterday granted permission for the pub to open after three gaming machines are removed and improvement work on the property is completed and inspected.
Mr Ure said: “I am delighted that we have got permission.
“The board listened to my arguments and I answered all their questions.”
He added: “We are happy to remove the games machines that they have specified and will now set about carrying out the improvements to the building before they inspect the pub.
“It’s a real step forward.”
A council spokesman confirmed the pub had been granted a conditional licence by the board.
