An Aberdeen chain restaurant has closed its doors.
Giraffe in Union Square has officially shut. The restaurant was based on Union Square shopping centre’s first floor.
Its parent firm, Boparan Restaurant Group, entered into a company voluntary agreement earlier in the year and announced it was to close almost a third of its 87 restaurants.
This included some Ed’s Easy Diner venues – which are also owned by the restaurant group – which closed its doors in Aberdeen in 2016.
Ryan Manson, general manager at Union Square, said: “We know that our customers will be disappointed to hear of Giraffe’s closure, but we continue to offer a great range of places to eat and drink at Union Square including Thaikhun, Pizza Express and BrewDog and we look forward to introducing a new brand to the centre soon.”
