Aberdeen shopping centre wins award for Christmas campaign

An Aberdeen shopping centre is celebrating having scooped a prestigious award for a second time.
The city’s Bon Accord centre won a Purple Apple Award for the second year in a row.
Members of staff from the centre travelled to London on May 10 to pick up the Strategic Marketing Campaign award for its ‘Christmas in the City’s Heart’ campaign.
The Purple Apple Awards recognise effective shopping and town centre marketing within the UK retail property sector. Bon Accord was deemed a merit winner, recognised by judges due to its ‘results of a multi-layered, innovative campaign which embraced all disciplines of the marketing mix and provided tangible results to SMART objectives.’
Judges said it was ‘A great campaign with a strong creative theme running throughout to help regain the hearts and minds of local shoppers at an important time of the year. The campaign addresses a clear need and links well with research.’
Craig Stevenson, centre manager of Bon Accord, said: “I’m thrilled that we have won another Purple Apple Award. The team here puts in a tremendous amount of effort into making events like Christmas extra special for our visitors and their hard work has paid off.
“It’s a great testament to the team to receive national recognition for their efforts”
