A city centre cocktail bar has claimed 12th place in the Top 50 Cocktail Bars in the UK.
Orchid on Langstane Place was the only bar north of Edinburgh to be recognised.
The results of the Top 50 Cocktail Bars list was announced at an inaugural awards ceremony in Manchester by the organisers behind the Top 50 Gastropubs.
Hundreds of bartenders and drinks specialists from across the UK voted for the venues they believed deserved to win a spot on the top 50 list.
Three Edinburgh bars including Bar Tonic, Panda & Sons and Bramble walked away with placings. Bramble was announced as the UK’s number one bar.
Orchid is home to Aberdeen gin, Porter’s Gin and is owned by Monkey Bars Limited which also runs Orchid’s sister venue 99 Bar & Kitchen.
Martin Farmer, a consultant for Orchid and operations at Porter’s Gin, said: “I am absolutely delighted for Orchid to be noticed on a national scene. We are continually looking to improve our knowledge and guest experience, so to be recognised for all the hard work we are putting in is really great.
“A big thanks to all the staff past and present for helping us achieve this and also the local community for the on-going support.”
