A new opportunity will be available for aspiring north-east theatre makers to develop their skills in the city.
Aberdeen Performing Arts’ (APA) Young Company will offer the chance for 18 to 25-year-olds to develop their skills, share practice and gain industry experience.
The four-week workshop programme comprises specialised sessions from leading industry experts and will be followed by an audition to select the Young Company members who will go on to create the group’s first project.
Aberdeen Performing Arts drama development co-ordinator Laura Callahan said: “While performance skills are essential, we would be particularly interested in those wishing to develop further skills – for example in directing, writing, technical or design.”
To celebrate the launch of the Young Company, a series of intensive theatre-making workshops will be held from January 24 until February 14 in HMT’s education studio.
This will be followed by a workshop audition on Thursday, February 21 to select the Young Company members who will join the project.
