Sitcom star set to play villain in beloved musical heading to Aberdeen

A popular 90s sitcom star has been named as the villain of a beloved musical.
Birds of a Feather’s Lesley Joseph will star as Miss Hannigan when the production of Annie comes to His Majesty’s Theatre this September.
The show announced last year it would be touring the UK after winning rave reviews in London.
Set in 1930s New York during The Great Depression, Annie lives a life of misery at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage.
Her luck changes when she’s chosen to spend Christmas with billionaire Oliver Warbucks.
Meanwhile, Miss Hannigan works against Annie’s search for her true family.
The Tony award-winning show includes classic songs such as It’s The Hard-Knock Life, Easy Street, I Don’t Need Anything But You and Tomorrow.
The show will run at His Majesty’s Theatre from September 24 until September 28.
