Olly Murs: Everything you need to know for his Aberdeen gig

Olly Murs is showing all the right moves by announcing he will kick off his UK tour in Aberdeen.

We’ve compiled a list of the most know questions so you’re fully up to speed ahead of the show at the AECC on May 1.

When are tickets on sale?

Tickets go on sale Friday 12th October at 9.30am – You can get your tickets here, through Ticketmaster.

What time does the event kick off?

Doors open at 6.30pm, X-Factor winners Rak-Su will be supporting him during the tour.

What is he likely to perform?

We are excited to hear tracks from his new album “You Know I Know” such as Moves (feat. Snoop Dogg) and Love Me Again alongside some of his classics like Dance With Me Tonight, Hear Skips a Beat and Troublemaker.

How do I get there and home?

Bus/rail: First Aberdeen runs a Gig ‘n’ Go service to and from the AECC.  The Gig ‘n’ Go service picks up customers opposite Primark on Union Street from 4pm and travels to the AECC – making stops along the way at McCombie’s Court, Castlegate, King Street at Morrison’s and King Street at St Machar roundabout.

The available tickets are:

  • Gig ‘n’ Go Single – £3 – a single ticket from Aberdeen City Centre to AECC
  • Gig ‘n’ Go Day – £5 – a day ticket valid for travel on Gig ‘n’ Go bus, valid until end of normal services (around 1am)

Return Gig ‘n’ Go tickets are also available to purchase from the First Travel Centre at 47 Union Street, Aberdeen.

Gig ‘n’ Go tickets are valid and can also be purchased on First services 1,2 and 20, all of which operate to the AECC area.

The AECC is a 15 minute taxi journey from Aberdeen Train and Bus Stations

Will there be any road closures ahead of the event for those taking their own cars?

At this time, we do not anticipate any road closures at the time of the event.

What about parking at the AECC?

Parking is available onsite.

  • 06:30 am – 09:30 am –  free
  • 09:30 am – 00:00 am – £5 per car
  • Coaches – £10 per coach

Ticket machines are situated at various locations in Car Parks 2, 4, 5 and 6 surrounding the AECC and AECC Arena.

They accept all major credit and debit cards and cash (coins only).

Please note machines take exact change only; no change will be given.

What about security?

Bags will be searched on entry to the event. Backpacks, large bags (including shopping bags over 40cm x 35cm x 19cm) and handbags that can be worn like backpacks are not permitted into the event. Only bring essential items and keep belongings to a minimum.

Will alcohol and food be available?

During concerts, shows and large public events the choices include burger vans, coffee carts, soft drinks, ice cream and confectionery points, and bars.

Are there any age limits?

No under 5’s are allowed on site. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.
