New Aberdeen restaurant The Esslemont reveals menu

One of Aberdeen’s newest restaurants has revealed its menu.
The Esslemont on Union Street will open its doors on Friday, and ahead of launching, has given diners a look into what they can expect.
Situated in the former Esslemont & Macintosh building, the ground floor eatery will also boast a pizza restaurant, Mac’s Pizzeria, upstairs.
On the starter menu diners will find dishes including tempura spiced haggis fritters, Moroccan chicken skewers and pan seared Shetland king scallops, and on the main menu, venison mince and tatties, pork schnitzel and spiced lamb shank to name a few will all feature.

Available from the grill, customers can also enjoy fillet and ribeye steaks as well as burgers. Fish dishes include red Thai monkfish curry, beer battered haddock, cod mornay and baked fillet of salmon.
There will also be a chef’s cut available daily and a kids menu.
For sweet a range of desserts will be on offer such as lemon drizzle cake, black forest Viennetta, bread and butter pudding, warm chocolate brownie and a selection of Scottish and French cheeses. Diners can also tuck into a baked cheese sharing dish.
The restaurant is owned by the McGinty’s Group who are behind the six-figure transformation.
