An Aberdeen brewery has revealed it is to release a range of new beers brewed in collaboration with some of the best UK and European breweries.
Fierce Beer has been working on the project which will see a new monthly beer released. The drive is designed to showcase what can be done with the humble hop.
With hundreds of different hop varieties in the brewing industry, each one has its own individual flavour, aroma and bitterness characteristics.
The first brew, called Citra, will be released on Wednesday February 13 at Fierce’s bar on Exchequer Row in Aberdeen. The beer was made using the citra hop and was brewed with English brewery Verdant.
Fierce managing director, Dave Grant, said: “The brief was to brew a beer per month using a single hop varietal at a time. There were no other restrictions in terms of style or strength.
“We selected a number of outstanding breweries to that we had either made great beers with before or always wanted to work with – but most importantly they have great brewers and are renowned for fantastic hoppy beers.”
March’s release will be with Jopen from the Netherlands.
The 440ml cans will be available in a number of local and national stores, as well as online.
