With accessories and beachwear on offer, too, you’ll have your suitcase packed before you know it.
With bold prints and bright colour hues back with a bang, expect to see lots of people making a pool-side statement this summer.
How to rock the swimsuit
If you prefer to cover up, you’re in luck as swimsuits are back in fashion. John Lewis, Next and M&S stock a variety of styles that offer built-in shapewear, giving an extra layer of support which is great for bustier women. If you’re looking to accentuate your curves, opt for a high-leg swimsuit which will draw attention to your waist. Channel 1960s glam in the belted white swimsuit from New Look, or make a colour-clashing statement in the ruffle one-piece from Marks & Spencer.
Make a statement with the tankini
The tankini is another way to cover your midriff when you are chilling out with a cocktail by the pool. A benefit of choosing this style is that it is so versatile. You can roll up the top to catch a bit of sun and roll it down to give the illusion that you are wearing a swimsuit. It’s also a great item for adding a pair of shorts to and strolling around at the beach.
The blue palm print number from Marks & Spencer is a great option for this, as is the polka-dot set from Next.
The trendy high-waisted bikini
If you prefer to cover your tum, a 1950s inspired high-waist bikini is perfect. It highlights your waist and gives you an hourglass shape. Pick a bright tropical pattern like the Caracou bikini set from John Lewis, or the floral print set from M&S to bring the high-waist bikini into the 21st Century. If you prefer neutrals, try the zig-zag bikini from River Island.
The classic bikini
This is one style that should be worn with confidence. The contrast spot bikini set from Topshop combines two of this season’s favourite trends, yellow and polka-dot, while the turquoise set from Bonmarche is perfect for relaxing by the sea. Or why not opt for the orange set from Next and be pool-party ready.
