North-east businesses were among the winners of the second Scottish Beauty Industry Awards, announced last night.
The awards celebrate beauticians, hair and nail teams, dentists and other talented professionals working in the beauty industry.
Aberdeen’s Hometown Barbers won the Barbers Team of the Year award, while the city’s Ruby Tuesday Hair and Beauty was named the Nail Team of the Year.
In addition, The Studio was highly commended in the nail team category.
Edinburgh-based GlamCandy, which also has a beauty academy in Aberdeen, won the Make Up Team of the Year award.
Irfan Younis, CEO of Creative Oceanic which organises the awards, said: “The beauty sector plays a vital role in the country’s economy and enhances the local community by employing hundreds of staff.
“The winners reflect the creativity and talent that flows within the beauty sector. These specialists inspire others when it comes to the big and competitive world of beauty.
“It is important to acknowledge these specialists for their hard work and let them know that their dedication to the profession doesn’t go unnoticed.”
The glittering awards ceremony took place at Marriott Hotel in Glasgow.
