A new sports bar-themed barbershop has opened in Aberdeen.
Founded by former oil and gas employee, Gavin Elphinstone, Applause Barbers is situated on Glenbervie Road in Torry.
Gavin said: “I have been so lucky to secure such an amazing team for the shop, which will not only help the barbershop grow but also these individuals.
“We offer it all – from a clipper cut to a hot towel facial – and currently, we are in the middle of building a room for a beautician to work from, offering waxing and massages.”
The venture came into play after Gavin faced redundancy and decided to explore new business ideas.
Always interested in new styles and haircuts, a hairdressing course at NESCol seemed like a natural decision. Within a couple of years of training in a local salon, Gavin won Best Apprentice at the recognised SHABA awards.
“In the future, we hope to offer a training academy in one of our rooms,” he added.
“Hopefully we can help others achieve their goals within the barbering industry.
“It has always been a dream of mine to own my own business and I am proud to offer opportunities to those starting out.”
Applause Barbers are aiming to link up with businesses across the city and shire in future, as well as host pop-up barber shops.
