An Aberdeen hair stylist has been recognised as one of Britain’s most trend-setting individuals in the industry.
Sarah Black, a senior principle stylist and colour expert at Linton & Mac on Netherkirkgate is a finalist in the Trend Image of the Year category for Hairdresser Journal’s British Hairdressing Awards.
Showcasing her skill for creating desirable and wearable hair in just one photographic image, she instantly impressed more than 100 hair industry judges, landing her a spot in the finals.
She is one of six salon stylists from across the UK under the age of 30 to be in the running to win the national accolade – which will be announced at an awards ceremony in London in November.
The awards celebrate the best of British hairdressing, recognising and rewarding the creative talents of individuals and teams who help bolster the industry.
Sarah said: “I’m delighted to be a finalist. I create gorgeous hair all day in the salon for my clients, but it’s great to be able to capture what I think will be big for the next season and inspire people with my passion for hair.”
Jayne Lewis-Orr executive director of Hairdresser Journal’s British Hairdressing Awards said: “To be named as a finalist in the Trend Image of the Year category highlights just how exceptional Sarah is. Her hair styling demonstrated fantastic skill and vision and rightly gives her the acknowledgement as one of UK’s most fashion-savvy emerging stylists.
“Britain has long had a world-class reputation for trend-setting in the hairdressing industry, and Sarah proves that this renowned creativity and excellence is still at the heart of the British hair scene. Her exceptional work epitomises this tradition of brilliant innovation and vision.”
The final will take place on November 25 at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
