Autumn is well and truly here and what better way to celebrate than with a spot of pumpkin picking.
With a range of activities and pumpkin patches popping up across the north-east, there’s plenty of fun to be had.

Udny Pumpkins – Udny, Ellon
Taking place from Saturday to October 27, visitors will be able to choose from a range of different pumpkins to take home, including white snowman ones too.
There will be animals, colouring competitions, hay bales to play and sit on, baby chicks and more to experience.
Organisers recommend booking tickets. Pumpkins cost from £3 to £12 depending on their weight.
The pumpkin patch will be closed on October 21 and 24.
Mains of Leask Farm – Ellon
On Sunday October 28 Mains of Leask Farm will open its gates to its pumpkin patch which hosts more than 300 pumpkins of all shapes, sizes and colours.
There will also be a kale maze and various activities around the patch to take part in. Guests can meet some farm animals, learn more about farming and buy some fresh grown vegetables too.
Pumpkin prices vary from £5 for a small to £12 for an enormous one.
Please note the patch is cash only on the day.
Westerton Farmers – Laurencekirk
This year Westerton Farm has pumpkins, neeps and a whole heap of other products for customers to browse at its harvest market including a range of other local businesses selling their produce. Brae Cafe will provide food and there will also be activities for children.
The event will take place from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 October.
There will also be livestock and children will be able to meet the calves. Dogs are not permitted to this event. Tess and Luna, the farm’s dogs will however be on-site.
A range of kids activities like a bouncy castle, face painting, bale art and more will also be taking place.

The Fairy Woods at Fedderate will be hosting a range of activities to take part in over the coming weeks. From fairy finding to pumpkin picking, there’s plenty to get stuck into.
The pumpkin patch will open from Saturday October 19 to Sunday 27th October.
The orienteering or fairy finding events will take place on various dates and times and can be booked by calling Nikki on 07711431183.
Children will be treated to a two/two and a half hour trip around the area enjoying hot dogs, hot chocolate and will be treated to marshmallows to toast. They will also get the chance to pick their own pumpkin and take it home with a goodie bag in hand. It costs £15 per child and adults can enjoy a hot dog for £2. Hot chocolate and marshmallows are free.
