If you’re looking to pick up a bouquet of flowers from the local shop, you might want to try hand-picking your own bouquet instead.
The Flower Field in Laurencekirk is run by local farming firm NJ McWilliam & Co and gives visitors the chance to pick their own floral bouquets.
Three types of flowers including sunflowers, gladioli and dahlias are available.
A number of cutters are also on-site for customers to use to carefully cut the stems.
The pick-your-own idea is the brainchild of the owners.
The field is open at all times and customers are asked to leave money for the flowers in an honesty box located at the entrance.
A PayPal account has also been set up for those who don’t have cash.
The field is located just off of the A90 and is accessible via the Oatyhill Farm junction.
The flowers range from 40p per stem to £1 per sunflower. Signs outline exact costs at the end of the row of flowers.
