A rugby festival which is said to be the biggest in the north-east, is set to take place in Aberdeen next month.
North East Rugby (NER) 7’s festival is a new outdoor rugby tournament and festival which will take place at the Woodside Sports Complex and pitches on Saturday April 13 from 10am to 6pm.
Confirmed for the tournament are teams from all over Scotland including Glasgow University, Strathclyde University, RGU, Dundee University, Strathmore RFC, Aberdeen Wanderers and a whole host of other talented squads. A total of 250+ players competing throughout the day.
The event will consist of an arena set up around the Woodside pitches, which will play host to a men and women’s open tournament and men’s social tournament.
Pop-up food stalls from local favorites Foodstory and The Pigs Wings will be serving food throughout the day and a range of craft beer and cider will be available from the sponsored bar by Six Degrees North.
Adding to the festival atmosphere will be entertainment sponsors RARE with Unit 51 providing DJs to play throughout the day.
The event is free to attend and open to all ages.
Co-organiser Rory Masson, said: “The NER 7’s is a brand new event for rugby fans that we’re really excited to bring to the north-east.
“We aim to bring in some great teams, locally made food and drink whilst bringing people together at the most exciting event to hit the area for years.”
