A new art exhibition has opened in an Aberdeen hospital.
Grampian Hospital Arts Trust (GHAT) hosts exhibitions and displays some of its 4,000 strong collection across the region’s medical centres.
The new exhibit, by Glasgow-based artist Michelle Hannah, is called alienation.
Based on a 1976 book considered to be the first feminist utopian work –Woman on the Edge of Time by Marge Piercy –the new display opens today and will be available in the Suttie Arts Space at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, and will last until April 7.
The artist creates visions of the future through passages of lifestyle and fashion magazines, which are torn out to change the meaning of the words.
A track of ambient music that Michelle recorded in the waiting rooms of hospitals will also be looped in the background of the installation.
