2nd Edinburgh run in the bag 🎉 Wrote a show that was a bit of a risk to do, performed it in a room that was more than double the size of last year’s, sold it out 12 times, had bloody beautiful audiences and a month of countless belly laughs – a lot of them due to this legend. 2×10+1 Romeo DONE ✅
The 2018 Best Newcomer nominee and Amused Moose National New Comic 2018 winner, Maisie Adam will work out who is to blame for what in her latest show.
She has been featured on ITV2’s The Stand Up Sketch Show and was the winner of annual stand-up comedy competition So You Think You’re Funny in 2017.
The announcement comes following an additional two bonus gigs were added to the festival, including the best show from Edinburgh’s Fringe, Jordan Brookes, who scooped the prestigious Dave’s Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Comedy Show with I’ve Got Nothing.
Aberdeen’s Got Talent, which celebrates the north-east’s top comedians, was also incorporated into the bill. The line-up of local talent includes popular MC and comedian Kenny Luke, with city stand-ups Violet Wilde, Stuart Leon, Orla Kelly and Peter Wood.
She said: “I’m so excited to be coming to Aberdeen. Without trying to sound too much like a Game of Thrones character, I’ve never been that far north! It’ll be nice to see more of Scotland as I’ve previously only ever been to Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival and then one school trip to Glasgow when I was 15 and the boy I was sat next to on the bus threw up all over me just as we crossed the border. Fond memories.
“I’m really excited to perform at the festival. My experiences of gigging in Scotland so far have shown me that the Scots are a brilliant crowd and a great laugh. The festival has so many great acts on so hopefully I can try and catch some of those as well!
“You can expect crimes of the 90s, a couple of anecdotes that still – after doing this show nearly 50 times – make me cringe when I recall them, and one mega twist.”
The comedy festival will run for 11 days at venues across the city centre and features headline acts such as Ben Elton, Daniel Sloss, Jimeoin and Janey Godley.
