A new art trail featuring Doric poems will soon be rolled out across the city.
Doric Dwams is an original collaboration between fabric artist Frieda Strachan and creative writer Shane Strachan.
Financed by Aberdeen City Council’s Creative Funding, the project hopes to raise cash for Rape Crisis Grampian (RCG).
Ten weavings with a unique Doric haiku will be hung up around Thistle Street, Rosemount and the surrounding areas for a month on the weekend of International Women’s Day on March 8.
Frieda has been running weaving workshops during the production phase for the service users at RCG as a way of using mindfulness to overcome trauma.
She said: “Rape Crisis is an organisation really close to my heart and the Aberdeen service is the one I most recently accessed so it feels really good to give something back following the support they have offered.”
